Sua fam\u00edlia direta dedica-se \u00e0 cria\u00e7\u00e3o comercial de ovinos e bovinos de corte na Nova Zel\u00e2ndia h\u00e1 quatro gera\u00e7\u00f5es e Gerry pessoalmente trabalha como fazendeiro de bovinos, ovinos e cervos.<\/p><p>Com o objetivo de compartilhar as suas experi\u00eancias com as comunidades agr\u00edcolas da Am\u00e9rica do Sul, Gerry fundou a PBEX; possibilitando que ele combinasse seu conhecimento de opera\u00e7\u00f5es agr\u00edcolas intensivas, e acesso \u00e0 tecnologia de ponta da Nova Zel\u00e2ndia, para otimizar as opera\u00e7\u00f5es agr\u00edcolas e aumentar lucratividade.<\/p><p>Desde ent\u00e3o, a empresa tem sido a maior exportadora da Nova Zel\u00e2ndia de sementes de pastagem, gen\u00e9tica animal, cercas el\u00e9tricas, e outras tecnologias agr\u00edcolas para clientes por toda a Am\u00e9rica do Sul e Ilhas Malvinas.<\/p><p>Durante esse per\u00edodo a PBEX foi a pioneira, respons\u00e1vel pelas plantas iniciais e tecnologia de startup da ind\u00fastria kiwi no Chile, esteve envolvido no desenvolvimento do setor de mirtilos no Chile, foi a primeira a enviar gen\u00e9tica animal da NZ (s\u00eamen de gado leiteiro) para o Chile e foi respons\u00e1vel pela inicia\u00e7\u00e3o de do laborat\u00f3rio de teste de l\u00e3 no Chile e nas Ilhas Malvinas.<\/p><p>Em 2007 o filho de Gerry, Nick, retornou para a Nova Zel\u00e2ndia depois de trabalhar na Europa e juntou-se ao neg\u00f3cio da fam\u00edlia e atualmente \u00e9 o diretor gerente da empresa.
